More importantly, this patient and daughter wanted me to share her story so others can learn from her almost huge mistake. This patient visited her regular dentist of many years and was told that she needed the latest dental treatment often referred to as “All on Four”. This procedure involves extracting all existing teeth including roots and placing 4 implants on the upper arch and 4 implants on the lower arch with both an upper and lower snap on denture. As she sat there in tears contemplating how she was going to refinance her home to be able to afford the 40,000 quoted of “needed” treatment, she phoned her daughter with the news.

As you may guess, after reviewing her xrays, Dr. Friedman did recommend some extractions for decay. But Dr. Friedman recommended 3 extractions vs. the 23 she was previously quoted, some porcelain restorations consisting of crowns and veneers but most importantly….she was keeping 20 of her original teeth giving her the best quality of life.
