What are Porcelain Veneers?
Porcelain veneers, also called dental veneers, are made of micro-thin layers of dental porcelain or ceramic that are bonded to the facial surface of the teeth in your smile zone. As such, they cover a number of cosmetic smile flaws including teeth that are chipped or slightly cracked; stained or discolored teeth that have not responded to teeth whitening; somewhat crooked teeth; and teeth that have gaps in between them. In addition to covering damaged teeth, veneers also help protect those teeth from further damage.

Once you and Dr. Friedman determine that porcelain veneers are the best cosmetic dentistry option for you, you are on your way to a beautiful new smile. It usually only takes two visits to complete the process of having your veneers placed. At the first appointment, Dr. Friedman will take an impression of your teeth that our dental lab will use to fabricate veneers that are a perfect fit and match for you. Then, he will prep the teeth by removing a minimal amount of enamel, so your veneers will lay flush with the rest of your teeth. After this appointment, you’ll wear temporaries until your permanent veneers are ready. Then, you’ll return to MOD Squad Dental in a few weeks to have your permanent veneers bonded in to place. With your new smile, you’ll be looking for the camera!
